Two hotels almost halfway around the world developed one uniting concept in mind: to provide special services catering to the interest of women.

What interest? Security.

Women now are independent and liberated. They travel for business purposes, go on holiday shopping, meet friends overseas and take time to pamper themselves. However, it could not be avoided that women who travel alone often feel threatened in mingling in a male-dominated society. They want to guard their privacy and want a "me-time" for themselves. At this time of uncertainty, women wanted to ensure that they are safe from the possible physical, emotional, psychological and even sexual assaults of perpetrators in a mixed society.

To provide female guests with peace of mind and to celebrate the pleasure of being a woman, Grange City Hotel in Central London and Naumi Hotel in Singapore provide a floor especially dedicated for its female guests. Barry Wishart, representative of the Grange Hotel Group, admits that the hotel noticed that their female guests are frequently asking for the same things. Thus, they decided to come-up with this special area in the hotel.

Grange City Hotel offers 68 rooms exclusive for female guests. All rooms are equipped with a spy hole and chain lock to secure the safety of its occupant and prevent trespassers from barging in. On the other hand, Naumi Hotel offers 5 ladies-only suites hidden behind a glass panel on one floor. These suites are accessible by a key card system. Both hotels also ensure that guests occupying these all-female rooms will also be served and assisted by female staff as well.

It is mandated that males are not allowed to access the said area on both hotels, although Grange City Hotel is a little more lenient. Wishart admits that they cannot fully implement the male ban if a female guest decides to invite a man in her room. It is the right of the guest to do so since it is her private space. On the other hand, Naumi Hotel recommends female guests to stay in their regular suites if they initially intend to entertain men in their rooms.

Both hotels customized the rooms to answer the needs of a travelling woman and to satisfy the vanity of their inner goddess. Grange Hotel offers illuminated wardrobes, a backlit make-up mirror and extra-powerful hairdryer to keep women on the go always chic and pretty. Naumi Hotel suites include in-room cosmetics such as make-up remover, toner and aromatherapy products with all-natural ingredients, which are perfect to relax a woman's body. Naumi Hotel's marketing manager, Adeline Quek, says that they want their hotel to provide travelling women with a sense of peace and a feeling of being at home.

Women travelling alone will no longer feel threatened or anxious about anything when staying in these hotels. They are secured in the all-female area and confident that they are protected from all possible assaults. They are also equipped with facilities meant to bring out the beauty and best qualities in a femme fatale.
